Comparatives and superlatives

bigger, the biggest, more expensive, the best.

  • Short adjectives: -er / -est — cheap → cheaper → the cheapest; big → bigger; easy → easier.
  • Long adjectives: more / the most — more expensive, the most beautiful.
  • Irregular: good → better → the best · bad → worse → the worst · far → further.
  • Use than to compare and as … as for equality.
